New to me 65 F85
Well I picked it up yesterday. Drove it home 45 miles. Later yesterday I drove it 35 miles and back to a small show and shine event. It was over 85 degrees and the engine didn't seem to get hot. (no gauge). The Econoway purred along nicely. The odd fire has a different sounding exhaust note.Doesn't seem to blow any oil out the tail pipes. Cruises at 70 no problem. Top of car is original paint but at some time below the trim was painted. Lots of chips and nicks. Someone went nuts under the hood with the gold paint - valve covers, underhood, alternator, and a few other small bits. Not sure why someone moved the mirrors rearward. Plate says: Style 33527 2-2-5. Body 352002. Paint C. Trim 303. M33

I was surprised at how well it handled going down the road. Takes bumps well. Standard steering is fine until you do slow maneuvers. Lots of rattles and wind whistles. Interior is in fantastic shape except for the ripped inserts.

Not sure what the plans are in the long run. Power steering right away then drive it for the summer. I have another major project I'm in the middle of but it's at the paint shop and will be there many more months. When it comes back my inside parking will be limited and I doubt my wife will park her daily driver outside, lol. I already talked to the body shop about the option of painting it after my other project is done. There's also a guy there who wants to buy it badly.

Hi,
Nice looking car, mirrors were optional in 65 even drivers side, seen a few cars without any from new, many dealers installed aftermarket ones. I replaced with the Olds mirrors recently.
Also the mirrors on my car were placed where the vent windows wouldn't open all the way. Not sure if they were installed by the dealership or owner but a lady bought it new in late 64 and every pictures had the mirrors I removed. I got the car from the second owner her niece so most things were documented.
V6 was made by Buick, good motor for a cruiser, rougher idle than a v8 but had one in a Skylark years ago and enjoyed it.
Regards,
