Cool... Do they put the hubcaps on at the dealers to keep them clean and damage free?

Yes, I worked at a dealership back then and putting on the hubcaps was part of a new car inspection. The hubcaps were shipped in the trunk.

I wasn't thinking about why when I posted, but yeah, that was probably the reason. If a car had an 8 track player it came with a tape and that was in the trunk also. Those tapes had a variety of music so everyone would like something but no one would like everything. Or to be less polite, the demo tape sucked.
