I've got an exhaust manifold bolt missing and need to find out what size it is so I can replace it. It's the 307 vin y engine with the 5A heads. Anyone know what size bolt I need?

On the head would be a 3/8x16

Thanks for replying, yeah I got some 3/8-16x 1 inch bolts that don't want to start. Does the bolt thread into the manifold or does the bolt go through the manifold to the threads on the head? The bolt goes into the hole and all it just doesn't want to start. I'm thinking either the bolt is too small being as there's a lot of wiggle room for the bolt or the threads on the head are stripped pretty bad.

Bolts through the manifold into the head. Try running a tap into the head. Something doesn't sound right

Is there a bolt broken off in the head. It can be hard to see w engine in the car try taking a pic while aiming a flashlight into the hole.
