Mystery Headers, Flowmaster Brand Olds bolt Pattern

This afternoon I was shuffling parts in the shed trying to make more room when I came across these headers. I picked them up years ago with a pickup load of Oldsmobile parts from an estate sale, but never figured out what they fit. At first I thought over the transit boat headers, but where they bolt to the heads puts the pipes down lower than the motor. I'm attaching lots of pictures with the hope someone recognizes them. Any ideas???

Looks like a set of home made street/rat rod headers.

I would guess they are for a rail.

I agree with you, those things would never fit over the gunwales of a boat so they are probably for an automotive application.

Flowmaster never made headers. Someone made those and used Flowmaster merge collectors on them. They are for some sort of dragster

Thank you for the thoughts guys, I've heard the flowmaster brand for mufflers but didn't realize they didn't make headers. Looking at the welds on the tubes it does look like something fabricated. Whoever did the work appears to have known what they were doing. The two sides match each other well. John

John,

Good looking headers. Mock them up on one of you blocks and take some front and side pictures so we can see how the sit in relation to the motor mounts and starter. Also how far they stick out from the block in relation to a fender well location. Curious to see what they would fit. I know all you do is sit around and look at you parts. This will give you something to do

I've had one other person ask for a price. I wanted to figure out what would be a fair price before offering them for sale. Kinda cool looking, but since they're likely a custom fabrication their application may be very limited

I picked up an engine for trade stock yesterday and decided to bolt these headers to it and see how they looked. The rod on the drivers side header matches one of the bolt holes on the back of the head. The passengerside doesn't come close, so it may have been bent. Tons of room to reach the starter and oil filter without getting burned!

dragster headers for sure. No all you need is to find a front engined dragster and you're all set John
