My newly aquired 1972 W-30, "Project X"
As most of you probalbly know by now I sold my 1970 W-31. Prior to the descision an oppurtunity to buy a car came up for sale that has made a significent impact on my life starting back in 1975 when i first saw and rode in it, yes a 1972 W-30 4-speed car!!!! My first real exposure to seeing what a raim air hood looks like from the passenger seat and later Drivers seat!!!!! This was my cousins car that i grew up with and loved for many years till he sold it in 1996. The owner took it all apart and never did anything with it, been in a garage since then. Below are some pics from 1985 era then more recent ones where it was stored in a garage. It is 80% original paint, rally pac car with No original drivetrain excpet the W30 intake. I will be recieving delivery of the car in a week or so and everyone has been asking for pics, well.............................here you go

Looks good. I see it has evidence of a vinyl top,but the cowl tag has 75 75,indicating all one color, and no vinyl top. What's up with that?
Some good things about 72's- You don't need red fenderwells, special heads, paperwork, etc.
Terry,
There's a green bucket/non-console X-car outside of Uniontown, that will sit inside forever.I've been there, but it is so remote,it doesn't even show up on a GPS.
There is another green one here too.

So any of you X guys with manual disc brakes have an original master cylinder? I have been trying to determine the correct master cylinder for a while now. I think the 71/72 are the same.
Nice project and good luck with the restoration!

Good luck on the new purchase. Next time I'm in the area I'll give you a shout.
