MY 71 Supreme

Here is a few pics of my car thus far. It is on the road and the wheels and tires came out great! The wheels were blasted and painted with 2 coats base and 2 coats clear. Everything else is new. The center caps were from The Parts Place. They differ from my GM caps on my 70 as they are all chrome without the grey on the recessed areas but they still look good. Hopefully I'll get the rest of the car to look as good as the wheels.

I think the dog likes the tires & wheels. The wheels & tires look good on the car. I'm a fan of T/A's, good tire for the money. Hope you get them broke in real good this summer!

Are you going with the matte black, or changing the car to blue? Nice project.

Thanks for the compliments on the car and dog. His name is Tobey and he always hangs out with me when I work outside! The car is going to be the same color as the wheels, code 24 Nordic blue metallic with a blue interior. It is the original color too!

It will look stunning! Viking Blue is an absoluteyl classic color for that car. Any plans for a vinyl roof? Looks like the inside of the car is white. In 1972, Olds showcased the Supreme on its ads with your car with the white vinyl roof and spoke wheel discs. See ad copy below

Wheel look great and a good start. That is such a good color. I love 70-72 Supremes. Keep us posted with your progress.

Actually it's a different color than Viking blue, I've never seen one this color. It has a bit more metallic in it or so it seems. I'm not gonna do the vinyl roof on it because I don't have the molding. Interior is bench in blue which is gonna be vinyl once it's done. The car has the brocade seats now which are pretty beat!

I love the brocaid seats! They have such a nice feel and look to them. Does your bench have the center armrest?

From what I've heard from the majority of folks who have redone their interiors, Legendary seems to excel at the Supreme interiors. The interior you are looking for in a 1972 Supreme is Naugahyde (not vinyl). It has a rich feel and texture similar to leather, and the pattern Olds used for 72 was described as 'Madrid". I probably need to invest in a new headliner and saw the Chop Cut Rebuild (69 Charger project) today where Legendary installed the new vinyl roof and headliner. I wish they made house calls because their guys did an absolutely bang on job. Maybe if I video'd them and told them they'd be on CO TV???

BTW, I know that vinyl roofs are a very personal choice. There's also a lot of concern for whether vinyl roofs cause rust issues too. I'm a believer that vinyl isn't the cause of the problem, it's either a poor install or poor maintenance.

What size T/A's are on those rims? Everybody had them in the 70's. Good tires. Chumley

Allen R, my car does have the center armrest. I have read enough on this site to use nobody but Legendary for the seat covers! They are located in NY a few hours from my house plus they are always at Carlisle which is only 3 hours door to door.
Chumley my tires are 245-60-14. They are on my 70 Convertible thats in th avatar as well. I love these tires!

Funny... I just bought that same dealer ad postcard above off eBay. We have a gray colored Bouvier, and when I saw this ad, had to get one. Sure looks like a Bouvier in the pic.

The 'Little Limo' ref is hilarious.
