Model and Year.

Been noticing a lot of posts recently asking for information, but poster doesn't tell us the MODEL and YEAR of their Oldsmobile.

I and others have pretty comprehensive libraries of shop books and sales literature, and can usually help answer questions, but it helps if you tell us the MODEL and YEAR.

Believe it or not, all Oldsmobiles are not built the same from 1897-2004. They're often not built the same from one year to the next, and even those of us who own and are knowledgeable about a wide variety of Oldsmobiles don't know exactly what car you're asking about UNLESS YOU TELL US.

Probably most people don't think of giving their model and year because they figure all Cutlasses are about the same. There are two options 64-77 and 78-86.

As far as the B/C bodies are concerned... well those guys don't come around much.

61-63
64-67
68-72
73-77
78-80

That's five distinct platforms of A-body F85/Cutlass/442 alone, before you get into G and W based cars. They change greatly from one to the next depending on factory technology, emissions, and federal build standards.

I forget that a lot of people think Oldsmobile didn't build anything but 2-door Cutlasses either.

Guess I shouldn't howl too much. I see what the guys at the parts stores go thru with some of the requests they get, and I know I would come over the counter at some of those people.
