Exclamation MICE AND BOUNCE?

is it true that a few sheets of bounce (drier sheets) placed in the interior and engine heater box wards away mice or is my leg being pulled ?

I use it, but I've also heard some people were disappointed with how well it works.

I think a multiple approach to this never ending problem.

Bounce
Poison
cat
etc

Don't put poison in the car. The poison is like popcorn to them. It will attract them. I've had mice chew thru the poison box to get to the stuff

I built these little boxes with a tuna fish can screwed to the center of the bottom. The top has a screw and a peg so it swings open to refill the poison. I've found this very effective. Just check often to make sure you've got it full of poison

Surround the outside of the car with glue traps. A bait of your choice in the middle of each will attract them. Catch em alive and discard.
Of course, keep kids and pets out of them.

Unhappy I hate those mieces to pieces

I have a barn I keep my lawn tractors and yard equipment and outside stuff in. The mice used to build condos in the engine compartments and all over the place in there.
I got a box of those Bounce sheets and put them in the tractors and scattered around the barn inside and no nests for a few years now.

I sealed my garage up like a vault so no mice in there, not even a spider.
I used one of those storage bags when I stored my car at my old house and they didn't get in that. The accumulated fluid fumes will knock you over when you open it in the spring though.

We do need some mice around for a supply of replacement material for 80's plush velour type interiors.
I wonder how many mouse pelts it took to make one of those things?

I've replied to many "mouse" threads and even posted one on another forum. I've tried it all: moth ***** (car stinks year round and I think they play dodge ball with them), dryer sheets (the verdict is still out because I found one chewed up in my glove compartment last year), poison (D-Con) helps reduce the population but they die inside the car, car bags were good for one season until they chewed a hole through it, brought the D-Con inside and died.
As Jamesbo said, "Bounce Poison cat etc". You need a combination of all.
My best luck to date is to put poison out early in the year before storage, put the dryer towels throughout the car during storage, keep a cat in the area, and wrap tarps around the car from the floor up.
We'll see in the spring..........

The mouse will die of asphyxiation if he gets in that bag with all the fumes.
If it lights up a smoke before it croaks it'll blow up good too.

Just finish your garages or it's like the car is sitting outside and the battle will never end.
Drywall and insulation and a little common sense to find and seal up any openings is cheap compared to the damage one mouse can do to a car.
It sure don't take a golden rocket scientist to do the stuff.
I've been doing it nearly all my life.

Casa de Rob is no place for the rubber mieces, or poetry.

I can picture Rob chasing them around the house yelling "I'll make mincemeat out of that mouse!!!".

How could anyone eat that pie anyway???

Oh no...food...here we go again.

Nothing but steel will stop them. They can and will eat through wood, plastic garbage cans, etc. I store all my dog food in a Lard can.[here it comes]

Mincemeat - n = Micemeat Yum...

Actually, mincemeat is good - nothing but brown sugar and dried bits of fruit. No real 'meat' in it. My mom makes mincemeat cookies - VERY good (and filling)! Mincemeat has a long shelf life and is great survival food when out in the wilderness (if the bears don't get it first.)...

I like fruitcake, but it has to be a good one from a real local bakery. No chinese lab creations often found in discount stores.

I think "Mouse & bounce" is a better title for this thread.... OR, "Bounce a mouse"...

I thought you put your dog food in a lard can to confuse the mice cause they can read.

I have used the Bounce Drier Sheets for several years now and never had mice. I can't rule out the "cat" angle though as my neighborhood is infested with feral cats, all thanks to my cat loving neighbor that feeds them.

Sandy was country when country wasn't cool.
I dont know what the heck happened since then??

My mama had a big can of mystery lard in the house all the time.
All drippin's and leavin's went in that baby.

She would have that stuff in something and deep fry those batter dipped Monte Cristo sandwiches then served them covered with powdered sugar then covered even more with maple syrup.

I had a deep pain shooting up my left arm and my heart hurt when I dragged myself on the ground to get to school after eating one of those things.

Never tried moth ***** or bounce sheets so I can't say how effective they are. I got a couple in my Buick a few years ago. Ate my hood insulation and every decal from under the hood. Even found the insulation between the carpeting and floor piled up. I just set up a couple traps with peanut butter on them and snap, snap problem solved!

I hate when the trap snaps shut on my tongue when I'm licking off the peanut butter.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned shop vacs or watchsnakes.

I like the "Mouse/Rat Catchers" in India ...

They munch on the rodents as they catch them ...

Shred up some Irish Spring soap and sprinkle it in your garage or even in your car, boat or camper. Mice hate the smell. This is something i do every year.

Depends where in India. In spme parts the people starve because they allow the rats to eat the grain and the population even brings the rats milk because they are.... sacred.

Mice Deterrent

I've always used Bounce because my car magazines had recommended it. All sheets don't quite smell the same so why take any chances. I've even shoved several behind my audio/visual equipment in the house. Why take any chances there with all the wires and cables lying on the floor.

Unhappy Mouse Tea

Just found our new wondercat messing with an empty ice tea/pop type can I left sitting around down here in my Fortress of Solitude/Batcave.
Picked it up and it felt a little heavy and nothing had spilled out.
Took it over to the light and looked inside and what do you know, a mouse!!!!
Saw the paw and didn't want to see no more but I figure the rest must be in there too.
I drank that tea.
Thought it tasted a little mousy?
The mouse ain't moving but he could be playing dead so I put a brick on top of the can until I can call in the the swat team/my wife.
I may be able buy several cars if the unfortunate mouse is croaked and too big to fit back through the hole in the top.
I would be happy with a free case of tea if I even did anything about it, At the very least a refund or replacement for that can from the grocery store?
It happens, I hope the thing ran into the can and croaked after I drank it though?
No matter either way... a little mouse tea never hurt anybody anyway.
