Measuring Instruments

Does anyone have experience with "SPI" (Swiss Precision Instruments) or "Fowler" brands in micrometers, etc.? They are considerably less expensive than Mitutoyo or Brown and Sharp.

No, but I have Starrett and Central, both good. I added to the set with Harbor Freight and they are surprisingly good too.

I had some Fowler calipers twenty years ago, they were very good then, not sure if the quality is still the same. Someone stole mine a couple years back, bastard. I do like the Mitutoyo mics a lot too.

Thank you Joe and Jeff. Still looking for someone who may have experience with SPI.
