Matching numbers ?

Thanks for the manual help. This is a great site for information. The # on my block says it is a 1969 400 big block. The car is a 1970. How do i tell if its the original motor?

If it's a 400 in a 70 it's not original. It would have had a 350 or 455 for a v8.
