Completely agreed.

Today's market as a private seller who doesn' do this for a living invites the all
encompassing "I want it for free" types who come to
waste your time and haggle more then the average amount.

I think we all know to sell something these days you have to list it for a slight bit more then you want
to make people feel better about themselves to haggle it down a notch. Somethings however I don't
give any haggle room because you're either buying it or you're wasting my time.

When I buy things off Craigslist I don't bother haggling if I know the price is very good.
So I expect the same courtesy.

Of course. If the price is clearly excellent, it doesn't look good to haggle, but, on the other hand, with the advent of huge nationwide sales networks, like CL and eBay, people have developed a habit of browsing through listings of things that may not be quite the same model, may be in very different condition, or may be in another part of the country where the market is different, or they look at asking prices without regard for what the selling price is, and form their prices based on this inaccurate information, and these people will leave their items listed for months without selling, but may sell to you at a more reasonable price if you talk to them about it and explain the reality of the situation.

I agree with Vega that it's all in how you ask.

Talk about manners, the experience i have from selling and buying here in california is not that bad, HOWEVER, theres always that one person, that can ruin your day!! but like most, ignore and move on .. not worth the hassle.
