Magnaflow Exhaust Review

I know there are always people asking for advice on which exhaust they want to put on their cars. I recently just installed the Magnaflow American Classic exhaust on my Cutlass. Here is a video of the before and after of the car revving to maybe help people get an idea of it. I'll try to get my wife to take some drive by video asap so you can hear it from that angle too.

The Set Up:
1968 Cutlass Convertible with stock 350
Exhaust Manifolds
Magnaflow American Classic Exhaust

Overall, I love it!

Sounds great, love the mellow sound. Any drone at highway speeds??? (and what is your rear end ratio?)

Been looking for a replacement for my Dynomax Turbos, as the drone (455 with 3.23) at pretty much any speed above 30 gets old, and exaggerated with the convertible..

I'll be honest, I'm not sure what my rear ratio is (awful I know). The isn't that much of a drone at all. I can definitely hear an exhaust but nothing that is overly loud. It might be a couple days due to weather, but I'll see if I can get some video of inside the car and of some drive bys.

Have the largest Dynomax Super Turbo's on my car's full 3" exhaust. Haven't experienced any drone, but does have a poppng sound when getting on it that I dont really like. The custom muffler shop was willing to weld in a balance tube for free. Didn't do it, as could really make a tranny pull a big problem. Places like Summit sell balance tube flange kits, but never got around to it.

American classic sounds great on stock motors,
but if you have a cam with some lope to it, they start to sound like spray paint cans rattling.

The grind on my 455's about 250 duration at 0.50" and near .600 lift, so guess you could say there's some cam. The large Super Turbos are fine around town, but really not liking the popping sound when getting on it. Thinkin' going with the full 3" system might be the real culprit here though. Summit sells a flange balance tube kit, so guess I should get off my duff and try that.
