Loss of 442.com
Loss of 442.com
Hey all,
Anyone know where all of the material at 442.com is and if it can be resurrected?
I am happy to host it and maintain it. Seems like such a loss of valuable information. Much of that information, I know, is in your heads and in this forum, but that makes it difficult to research rather than go straight to a documented source.
Thanks!

You can grab a lot of it by going here. I've done that from a few now-dormant sites in the past.

You are better off asking for what you need to know here. I was on there some a long time ago but noticed right off that some of the information was wrong. Lots of really smart guys here that will get you good information
Yes, agree on all points. But wouldn't it be more simple in many cases to have the best of the best and most accurate information collated in a single database? I know there are a lot of variables, but perhaps that can be accounted for as well.
I honestly doubt you can come up with any question that cannot be answered or hasn't been answered in the past.
One of many errors on that site was the correct quadrajet for the 72 W30. Both automatic and 4 speed cars use the same 7042953 carb. 442.com showed that the automatic cars used the 7042251 carb and only the 4 speed cars used the 7042953 carb. I’m sure there were more than a few carbs sold for no reason. Lots and lots of errors were on that sight. Agree with everyone above. Ask here. There’s a lot of knowledge being shared.
