Looking at a few old cuttlasses

Hi, I have been looking for a cutlass for a while now near MN. I found these two on craigslist. The owner of the green 69 sent me a few pics and a cold start video. I havent called the about the grey 72 cutlass yet. Tell me what you guys think. I like the green 69 but its a green interior and bench seat. The 72 looks awesome but havent seem the hood and idk about the trunk.

Tough choice, Green is not a bad color. I'd look at both if they were close enough.

It's all about personal preference. I like the notchback (70-72) Supreme body much more than the fastback style, and I would never have a front bench seat. That's just my preferences and other folks like just the opposite.

Im wondering what you guys think of the trunk on the 72. Im 15 and not super mechanically inclined. I can do a little bit of stuff tho. Also, I call it cutlasses not cutlass's. If it was cutlass's it would imply something that the cutlass owned. Example: the cutlass's wheels

I've seen Cutli more often. Or is it Cutlii? Meh, whatever...the more the merrier!

I'd be leery of the trunk rust and would want some good photos of the underside of the car. If the body was redone then it could look nice and be hiding a whole bunch of ugliness.

My preference is the 69, i love the green. But I too am not crazy about green interior, but that can be changed. Find some factory style bucket seats get some black or saddle tan seat covers, carpet and SEM vinyl dye/paint. Or white, but im not a fan of white interior either.
Good luck

The 69 has no headliner and probably needs a new carpet so a black interior is a posibility.

I think I will stay away from the 72 and the 69. Both are pretty far and are not exactly what I want. Any good sites for looking for cars other than craigslist and autotempest/searchtempest? My ideal car would be a 70 or 72 cutlass s fastback with black buckets. I dont really care about the color if it is stock looking. After looking for a few years online and knowing ppl, it seems pretty hard! The owner of unique and specialty classics, my local dealership, has a few 442 s and a w30 but I havent met him yet! Maybe he has connections...

You might searching using this, http://www.adhuntr.com.

This probably isn't what you were looking for but at first glance looks pretty nice.

You could also look for a partially restored where someone has done all of the rust and body work and run out of money, time or interest. You could finish the easier stuff as time and money allowed. I see these now and then and the seller usually takes a loss on these.

Don't rule out distance. You might find something in a more rust free part of the country and find someone, maybe on here to check it out. If it looks good fly out and pick it up.

I've repaired several rusty trunk floors.
Fair amount of work, especially if you're not equipped.
Welding is required to do it right.
Odds are the body mount reinforcement that
the piece of floor is attached to is rusted as well.
After market partial repair panels which have
the reinforcement attached are available.
Looks like a nice car otherwise.
Might be worth doing if the price is right and
you can afford to do the work or have it done.
