Looking for Burnouts!

Hi Everyone! I am putting together a special video on my YouTube Channel called OldsmoBobby

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiwXjjz7qkiRvQz3CQi87iw?view_as=subscriber

I am looking for some short clips of Oldsmobiles doing big, smoky burnouts. If you like doing burnouts (on a closed course obviously), I wanna see them! If you can, please reply to this post with a video of you doing a burnout in your car. If you want, include a little description of your car, like year, model, any special packages or features, etc. I don't need any personal information and I will blur out the license plates if you haven't done that already, but any and all submissions would be greatly appreciated! I'll be checking in all throughout the month of July, so I hope to see a bunch of you showing your Oldsmobile Pride with some videos of your cars in action!

Thanks So Much,

Bobby

I have several good burnout videos, I tried to post them and get a message saying the file isn’t supported?

Good luck with finding people here with burnout videos- 90% of the people here only care about part numbers and trailering their cars

Yeah, plus engine would have to be at wide open throttle with the RPM above idle.

Lol i generally at least chirpthe tires everytime i take my car out. I dont ever do long stay inplace smokey burn outs, but i dont mind nailing it from a stop and getting the car sideways, that happens alot!!

no vids tho! Just picture my car leaving a stop sign both tires spinning and the car sliding sideways as it goes!!

That video is great! I hope there's more Olds enthusiasts like you that actually drive their cars the way they were meant to be driven!

Agree. Why let them dry rot and only buy a set every 10 years. There was a empty culdesac here in town that I used to paint with donuts in my 69 442. Loved it.

@Vintage Chief Yes, I know there's a ton on Youtube. If you notice, they're all old and poor quality. I was hoping for newer videos from current drivers. Not everybody still owns their Olds's. I want to see people partying in 2020, not 2002.

In 1972, I was a drag racer at most of the tracks in the region; Atco, Englishtown, Cecil County and Maple Grove. I parked my car in the driveway of my parent's home, many times with the NHRA class and numbers on the window.
We lived on a street that had moderate traffic.
I painted a starting line from one side of the street to the other, curb to curb, with the letters " START."
We, including my parents and neighbors, would see cars pull up to the "starting line" and do burnouts all hours of the day and night.
I wish that I had videos of the burnouts, tires smoking, and the cars sliding sideways. My neighbors loved sharing the experience..lol

Thanks for all your responses everyone! The other goal of this, personally, is to meet some more people in the Oldsmobile world, learn more about their cars and why they love Oldsmobiles. I think Oldsmobiles are more of a "hidden gem" of the classic car world and my hope is that by showing how badass these cars are we can grow the interest in them and get more people into the hobby we know and love.

The majority of Oldsmobiles were not performance cars, they were semi luxury grocery getters and people haulers.
