I'm starting to get the impression you don't like Mustangs

Brad Barrie from Old School License Plates.

He has done others for me as well. He has quite a few of the dealer's art work in stock but he can custom make anything you like.

I’ve always wondered what the marketing executives thought was wrong with my father’s Oldsmobile..

In Connecticut, this type of license plate surround, even if it is obstructing the view of the most obscure part of any of the plate's (official) lettering, makes you subject to being pulled over and possibly slapped with a $100 fine. There was a story in the Hartford Courant of a lady residing somewhere in about the middle of the state where this actually happened. As a result of reading that article, I removed my OCA and H/OCA plate surrounds as they blocked out part of the word Connecticut.

Other states may have this reg on the books too, but not the one I'm in now. The Surrounds are back on.

Oregon is like what BlueCalais79 said. Oregon has stickers on their license plates in the lower left and right sides and a typical license plate frame will cover them from view. On newer plates, a frame would have to be thin on the top and the bottom to keep the "Oregon" on top and the stickers on the bottom of the plate exposed. On older plates, a frame would have to be thin just across the bottom to keep "Oregon" and the stickers exposed. I have a couple of late '60s era Oregon dealer license plate frames and even they don't work as the law requires. But, back then, everyone seemingly ditched their dealer license plate frames (just like they did their steel wheels and poverty hub caps!) for something more dressed up. I like what Yukon Olds did to dress up his plates!

I run this one on my Monte Carlo as it was on it when my grandfather passed and left it to us. I believe it is OEM. I do not run any on my other 5 cars. It has spring steel pieces that spring down behind the plate on top and bottom.

That's the car's 72 plate; the one that matches the first registration. I found both the registration and the plate in grandma's house as I was cleaning it out. Also found the front license plate bracket, nicely labelled as to what it was.
