Lead Subsitute

Hey all,

Just a question, I've been using gunk lead subsitute in my 63 olds, but i was wondering what some of you guys may recomend using any other brand, or a different fuel additive all together. I've been looking at some other fuel additives which contain valve seat and lubricating additives, and was wondering if these or any other brand of lead subsitute are the better than any other for engines built to run on leaded gas.

Thanks
-Ryan

Ryan, we've covered lead substitute quite a few times on our site. If you use the search engine I'm sure you will find good info on it.

FWIW, I don't think lead substitute needs to be used in an older engine. Especially if the car is only driven once in awhile. If you have machine work done to the engine then you should have hardened valve seats put in, otherwise you should be good.

Thanks olds 64

I'll look at those articles, but I definately think I should be running some sort of led subsitute in her, because I use her daily 6-7 months of the year, I do plan ob having hardened valve seats put in once I find the heads im looking for, but I don't have the dough at the moment
Thanks again
-Ryan
