Large Cruise-In in Sunset Hills (St. Louis, suburb), Missouri
Hey guys,
I was fortunate to get out to another large cruise-in event this afternoon/evening. There was a wide variety of cars and trucks of all eras and a boatload of spectators. Great time out with my car! Hope you enjoy the pics!
61Bat - Thanks for the rsvp. They hold that cruise-in on the 1st Friday of the every month thru October. I see you're in Wentzville, I'm down 55 about 30-miles south of St. Louis in Pevely. I have an Aquamarine '67 4-4-2, maybe I'll see you at the next one in June! It is a good one to make it to, lots of space to park, and lots of cars.
Boy great group of cars. The ones you photographed and the ones in the background shots. Looks like a 57 Bel Air made into a truck?? Quite the diversity of wheels. Thanks for sharing.

no1oldsfan - Thanks for the compliment on the cars and pics! I took the pics early, around 4:30 pm, there were many, many more cars later. The vast majority of those empty spaces between cars were completely filled in by 5:30. I like to be around my car when spectators start strolling in around 5:30 or 6:00. Most know next to nothing about Oldsmobiles and I always love talking with them about the brand. I didn't post the picture of this 57 Chevy vert originally because I was limited to 20 pics. If you look in the background behind the rear driver's side quarter you can see my aquamarine '67 4-4-2 in the distance.
Just as much a rarity as Oldsmobiles are seeing Mopars, Thanks for sharing.
oldcutlass - We seem to have more than our fair share of nice Mopars show up at our local cruises and shows here in the St. Louis area. I have no way to prove it, but I suspect a large part of that is due to brand loyalty because St. Louis had 2 Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth plants spanning the years of 1959 - 2007. The two plants built a wide variety of models, including some of their best 60's and 70's muscle cars. The last plant closed in 2007.
I totally dig this gold Road Runner. Looks very clean. The 57 behind it is what I was referring to.
Plenty to comment on. Always got to love a *****'s gasser. That 68 442 looks two tone. Is it just the angle? I can see your car in the background. Great car. Great color.

no1oldsfan - I think the gold Road Runner was probably my favorite car there. You obviously can't tell from the picture, but it's a 4-speed, bench seat car. Love the fact it has the functional air grabber hood too along with the six pack.
The '57 Chevy chopped to a period incorrect El Camino was kind of an odd duck, but whoever did the build had some skills because it was clean and tidy. He needed a show sign that said Bel Camino!
You're correct on the 68 442, for some reason it had a black hood??? I never got to talk with the owner to ask why, he was never by his car that I saw for the whole 3-hours I was there. Thanks for the interest in the show and the pics, and for your compliments on my car!
