The KING of ridiculous !

We've all seen insane prices on Ebay, but I think this guy consistently wins the prize ! Only to be outdone by the fools who might buy this stuff... check out his listings...

He can ASK whatever he wants. He can continue to pay ebay listing fees for items that don't sell. Who cares?

X2, I thought the same thing.... But as Joe says, that's asking price... If there is someone willing to pay the price so be it...

Guess he needs someone to fund his IRA.

The story he put together on the “Ram Air V engine” is somewhat delusional - read the story at the bottom of the listing for the intake.

What I know is that those items haven't sold, so it apparently isn't a "business".

Perspective changes a lot of things. The collection of Ram Air V engine parts would not be priced too far out of line if it were NOS Olds Hemi stuff .

Exactly as was stated. What people ask and what people get can be so far apart. You can ask crazy prices all day. If they don't sell then you aren't getting your ridiculous price. I see prices even here and go wow really? But sometimes they do sell. You see this kind of gouging (or attempted gouging) in any and all hobbies.

X 2 When you see an ad bumped or ttt 10 or 12 times, you can figure things out real fast.

Interestingly, the brake booster check valve doesn't look like the originals I'm familiar with.

The shift **** threads look to be course threads and no metal insert. I don't recall a GM shifter handle that has course threads. All Olds handles are fine thread and have a brass insert.

We have a saying in contract negotiations. "If you don't ask, you definitely won't get it". He's welcome to ask that price for decades. He may find the one buyer with more money than brains. The only thing certain is that if he doesn't ask that price, he definitely won't get it.

Of course, the other side of that is why do people think ASKING price is any measure of what something is worth? I see so many ads on C-llist or FB Marketplace that include "...seen these for $1500 or whatever on ebay..." Yeah, so what? They didn't sell there, either.

I may be naive here, but in order to launder money, wouldn't a transaction need to take place?

No, you're quite right. He sells it to himself. One user name has the vastly overpriced parts that he paid 1/100th for, and his other user name buys it. He takes the cash from knocking over a series of strip clubs and takes it to the bank along with the sale receipt, and now that money has come to him via a cash purchase from ebay.

This isn't really a good example of laundering since it has to be sneakier than that, less blatant, and doesn't involve cash that smells like stripper crotch, but that's how it would go.

Maybe he is not going to money launder it. I had it on my watch list and I received a special offer of $900 since I showed interest in it. I know you guys are surprised but I passed.
