Just received my score report Concours d Elegance

Received in the mail today my Chico Concours score report. Looks like I dropped 15 points total, most of which I knew what they were before the show but some point loss was a little bit of surprise. In all I think they did better job of judging than any show I ever attended. They found everything I was concerned and knew about and a couple that I had neglected and should have addressed but didn't want to spend the time under the car cleaning something that only me and the judge would see.

They caught my non bias tires and a couple of itty bitty dents/ rock chips a paint repair and such of which I knew about but thought they would slide but didn't. Something about the operation of my instrument panel, don't know what that's about but they didn't like something, I'll have to look that over or not depending on my mood and ambition level.

Was it fun, you bet, will I do it again probably not but I never know what will catch my interest in a year or so. I'll chalk it up to another fun learning experience and a scratch off of one of those items on my bucket list... Tedd

Congrats Tedd... At least you knew mostly what to expect from the judges... And as you said, it was another learning experience... One of my mottoes is "LIFE IS LEARNING"...

if all they could find where things you mentioned then it's a perfect car in my book. Sounds like the judges are looking for trailer queen cars. Anything driven will not stay perfect but they can't be fully enjoyed if you don't drive them. Life is short, let's drive!

X3 on all of the above. These guys judge as a new showroom car. You drive yours very often. Be very proud of that fact.

Thanks guys, your comments mean a lot. There were a few items that the eagle eyes missed mostly because they weren't familiar with Oldsmobile's. My split exhaust skated by with only a comment that they sure sound good from a judge and of course the wipers which worked flawlessly as they always do after they were electrified a few years ago.Oh and my hose clamps which I hadn't changed back yet to the tower style for this show. because of lack of time and ambition.

It's all just a game we play, not as subjective as most show and shine type shows but shenanigans go on anyway. Half the fun is seeing if you know more than the judges, these guys were pretty sharp on everything except Oldsmobile specific items. They could judge my car anytime and I would feel it was fair and a complete job...... Tedd

Congrats Tedd, you did well. As mentioned, it's difficult to have really high scores on a driver. Many things can be fixed for cheap or nothing. It's that last 10 or 20 points that's always big bucks...the tires, battery, stuff like that. You should be proud of competing against trailered cars!

There is no such thing as a perfect car we all make mistakes.Restored to the best of your ability and knowledge at the time. These cars were built by men and women small mistakes did happen .That is there beauty
