Interior vent ducting

Hey guys, finally putting together my 67 C/S with A/C. The interior fiberglass vent duct that meets with the passenger side kick panel/ a/c unit condenser area leaked when it rains. By looking at the shop manual this area originally came with a two piece retainer ring. this ring and gasket material screws into the metal kick panel to make a water tight seal. This leak allowed my passenger side floor panel to have a few rust holes. Yes I know its a bit confusing. the figure is 1C-115 in the manual. Anyone out there that has one of these or knows of such an animal, let me know. The cars not ready for prime time yet, still trying to make it mouse tight first (they ate my wires) then start putting in the wiring.

Any and all help is always helpful, Thanks Brian

I know nothing of the ductwork and gaskets of which you speak. But I just wanted to suggest:
Are you sure the leak isn't in the channel at the base of the windshield?

The windshield is tight. The area is between the "evaporator" and the passenger side kick panel. Does this help a bit
