Interesting License Plate Ideas?
All other variations were already taken. I was surprised that they let you use symbols. In 2007 I had a Mustang GT with the plate "THEPONY" couldn't believe it was available.

Hi,
They probably think it's a website, years ago when the newer Challengers came out, there was a 70 and new one 2008? both white, the newer one had Kowalski on the custom plate
Glad you got a one of your alternates
Regards,

Back in the 70's the local DMV in NJ would let you ask for a different plate. Like if the # was 439, you could ask for 442 and they didn't care. I doubt it now. Pretty cool hitting it lucky on 442 plate.

I bought a vintage 1972 North Carolina license plate off eBay that was new in the original parchment paper packaging. I checked with the DMV and, true to the listing, it has never been registered to a car. So, I could pay for a custom plate with that exact random plate number to feel more legit or save some money, just keep it on the car and drive with the new, registered to the car plate under the seat. The DMV person recommended the latter.
Side note- The license plate itself has an odd, strong odor. I've tried cleaning it and that slightly took some paint off the edge of the plate albeit you could not tell. Still has an odor. I must have bloodhound's sense of smell because I was in my friends shop the other day, the smell got my attention and I looked down to see he had a handful of vintage NC plates.

Me too. Years ago, I picked up a set of 1969 Alberta (where my car was originally sold and lived for its first 35 years) plates in really nice shape that I imagined I would use in shows. Thing is, they're a really ugly olive-drab/white color scheme, so I've never actually put them on.

My plate.
A tribute to the only car I would sell my Olds for.
A red 57-58 Plymouth Fury or Belvedere, aka Christine....
Though my car is red and white it's an Olds and doesn't fix itself.

Some of my old plates over the years. I'm in Asheville, NC now and just hung onto them. I just can't resist getting them. Notice the calendar, thats from my month and year. Steve
