Interesting auction in Kasas City area
I dont know if you guys remember me asking questions a couple years ago about a W31 Rally....we had this Olds 442 expert has one etc etc..
He had lung disease and every time i saw him hed tell me the party was over for him...Im not sure, but i think he passed..all of his stuff is up for action..
The gold 70 is a 4 speed...he had a bunch, rather tons of 442 stuff..including a 70 OAI hood with 11,000 miles on it..immaculate orig paint etc...
tri-five stuff too
I personally could never do anything with him..he wanted to "show" me his stuff...never could buy anything..either he had to think about it or it was so overpriced it wasnt do-able..he was a super nice old dude too...you could talk to him for hrs..litterally..lol.....
anyway...if your a Cutlass guy...and they havent cherry picked it...this is an auction you have to be at...i cant believe they waited so late to announce it..my understanding is he was living at the lake...Im not even sure if he passed..but i know the cars...ive seen them all

From the facebook link it looks like there are two 1970 cars. I'm also curious about the two door 57 chevy... It will be interesting to see what they bring, maybe a lot, maybe not. I think the economy is coming back but most people still aren't spending like they once were. We'll just have to see. I'm still planning to attend if I can. - Steven

Would be a cool auction but hard to make it up there on a Monday with it starting so late in the afternoon and being a 2 day auction. Might still try though.

I was there. Took a day of vacation and arrived Monday at 9:30 am to preview the cars and parts.
There were 2 Oldsmobiles - a 1970 442 and a 1970 Rallye 350.
I had intentions of using an AMEX card for potential big buys, but decided on small items. I ending up buying 4 parts for a total of $36. Great deals were had by most everyone, in my opinion - cars aside. I left before some of the sheet metal and hoods were auctioned.
There were 2 Oldsmobiles - a 1970 442 and a 1970 Rallye 350.
- The 442 was missing fenders and a hood (which were auctioned off separately near the shed). The engine started right up and sounded good. The VIN derivative on the block did not match the VIN tag. It had automatic tranny with standard console shift. Couldn't verify if the rearend was limited slip or not, but indications were it was not (no "Anti Spin" sticker on what appeared to be original deck lid and no tag on diff cover). There were some extra parts in the trunk.
- It sold for some amount just over $12,000. Quite a bit over my estimate and that of others around me. As it turns out, the winning bidder's family had previousy owned the car in the past so it had sentimental value.
- The Rallye 350 was just a chassis, shell and engine. Just about every inch was painted yellow. The cowl tag did have two dashes to indicate paint code. The vin derivative on the block did match the VIN. It did not have a W-31 harmonic balancer. And, it appeared to have some frame damage at the front.
- It sold for $1,950
