Installing rear armrest covers

Installing rear armrest covers

Is there a certain way to install these covers,do they get glued on like paste or sprayed on.Do you have to install foam.I just ordered them from opgi today.

If there is no padding with them, you will need to provide your own.
Basically a thin layer of polyester fiberfill was used on the outside with a thicker layer on the armrest part. This is similar to that is at the tops of the door panels.
A little spray adhesive can be used to hold the fill on. Place the fill on but do not press it hard. Let dry for an hour before covering.
The vinyl cover would be glued on only on the backside with 3M 8090 trim adhesive.
The fill allows some poofiness to hide imperfections in the metal and providing a more luxurious look and feel.

do you go with 1/8 or 1/4 poly foam size

IF possible, I would go with polyester fiberfill padding. It will last longer than foam, which could deteriorate in automotive environments. Sewing / craft / fabric stores should have it. 1/8" should work if using foam, use 1/4" for polyfill, as they both compress differently.
