When you put it like that it puts it in persepctive.
My parents bought their house in Dec '70 for $27,500, now that is the going rate for a slightly nicer than average family sedan.

Back in 75 I bought my first 1967 Cutlass, used with 60k miles on it for $500. In 2009 I bought my current 1967 Cutlass, with 126k miles and in running condition for $5000.

In 75 basically all it needed was brakes, tires, paint, and a good tune-up, cost came to about $1500. Total cost of the car $2000.

In 2009, this car, with all the maint. and MAW's, came to another $10k!

Hey, you cannot put a price on happiness!

Whne I got my car it was 90% done. That 10% cost me 50% what I paid for it.
