Nice, what other Oldsmobiles made it to the show? Looks like you got a good spot.

Had a good time. Really enjoyed it but there was only a couple Oldsmobiles. A 70 Rallye 350, and Jetstar converted into a bed car and my cars. Great time but nearly no Oldsmobiles. It was hard to get away from my cars anyway. I will not likely go next year because I don't want the Jetfire to get old at the same show. When we get the 62 4 speed car done I will take it but that will be 2 or 3 years.

That spare engine you have really generates a lot of interest. You've done good educating everyone about it at the various shows you've taken it to. Was the Rallye in good shape?

It was a very nice looking car. They did have a sign that made the claim that only 20 of them were made with a 4 speed. This number is not known and thought they should have left that crazy claim out. Kind of takes from the car when it has made up information. Most people would not know that is incorrect information though. I have had 3 Rallye 350 4 speed cars myself.

The Rallye in question.

Looked nice. Dripping with repro stickers & tags. Couldn't get close enough or see well enough under the partially closed hood to nit-pick.

Saw a couple of other Olds not previously mentioned.
A pale yellow '67 98 2 door convertible. Pretty original looking except the wheels Looked nice.
A pro-mod '90 -ish Cutlass (but was BBC powered). Pro level drag car from some time ago.

.
I agree on the tags. I had several of them on my W-30 but they went a little overboard on that Rallye and many of them were wrong numbers on those tags. It had some minor things I seen not right but was glad to see one there. The one thing that stood out that is a pet peeve of mine is the black on the grills, headlight bezels and inside the scoops. It should be flat black. They just don't look right with any amount of gloss at all.
