Idle load compensator

Im trying to figure out if i need this part. I was told tht it controls the idle for when the ac is on. If i have taken out the ac, do i still need the idle load compensator?

No. It's strictly to bump up the idle when the AC is turned on.

Welcome to the site. For future reference, it would really help if you tell us what year and model your car is. Engine, too.

Some Quadrajets have a hot-idle compensator on the back, which doesn't really have any thing to do with A/C. Some applications use either a dashpot or a solenoid on the throttle linkage. The former keeps the throttle from slamming shut too quickly when you take your foot off the gas. The latter is energized when the A/C compressor is running to bump up the idle a little and make up for the extra load.

Shipping would end being close to $20. As for the price for the part... im not sure. I found one tht sold on ebay for 150, but im not gonna be an a-hole amd charge tht much. What about 100? Its negotiable. Im mainly going off the one on ebay cuz i cant fond one like it anywhere else since it was discontinued... i also need to get parts of my own so thts another reason for the price
