All of the 68-72s I've owned have ended up with BFG Radial T/As in 225/70/14. I also had a '68 post coupe with 245/60/14s. They were a little fatter but also a little shorter than the 225/70/14s. I prefer the 70-series since they fill the wheelwells a bit better.

Are your rims the 14x6 steel with hubcap or 14x7 SSI, II/III? When i had 14x7 on mine, the 225/70 worked for me but certainly could've gone "fatter" with those wheel wells.

Teepo has the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 14" tires on her. I believe they are the 225/70/14.

I too run P225/70-14 BFGs on my '71 and when comparing them to my original spare which is a G70-14 they are almost identical dimensionally. So if you want the factory look the P225/70-14 is the way to go. The only thing I don't like about the Radial T/As is the 'all-season looking' crossed tread pattern. I wish they made a 'summer' straight tread.

They hug the road well and deliver a great ride.
