I have sinned

No sin in owning a K5... I'm waiting until these become available..

Nice! I owned an 83 K5 Blazer 6.2L diesel back in college and actually my current mechanic has one too that's his DD! I loved that rig but it always seemed to be under the wrench, which I don't miss

If GM would design and build a truck like that, they couldn’t build them fast enough. The comfort and safety of modern engineering, with the obvious influence of the classic square body Blazer.

First it is a 4x4 . The sin is that it needs lots of love on the rear panels. Who poured salt on this K5? Dad gumit this engine doesn't smoke but the headers are rotted off where the collectors bolt up! Pictures are a challenge for me to post. Eh I think I am going to try and make a daily driver out of it. That is if I can find left and right 1/4 panels. It also needs inner fenders on the front.LOL

I had an 83 (jimmy really) around 1995. Newest of the 3 K5s I've had, but a really nice truck. The 305 moved it around Ok, but it seems like that poor motor had about 16 miles of vacuum hose all over it, all getting dry and failing at once.

It's been a LONG time since I worked at GM SPO/CCA, but it wouldn't surprise me if they are still stocking all the sheet metal for them.

It's really hard to make a good looking throwback that passes crash testing. Dodge Challenger is the only one I can think of.

Great trucks. Love the square bodies. I had an ‘86 c10 sort bed in college. If it was 4 wheel drive I would still have it. I would shovel snow into the bed for traction after a storm. It was a 4 speed manual with a bench set. Gears were low-1-2-3. Low was good for 5 mph tops. Got rid of it to get 4 wheel drive Jeep.

Well the engine still runs but will not stay running like it did. I changed the inline fuel filter. Got drive shaft on the rear fixed with new u joints. I was able to keep it running long enough to put transmission in reverse and it backed up 1 foot before it died. Fuel pump seems to be working pumped fuel into a bottle. I need to see if carb fuel filter is installed. Tomorrow I will check it. Still no luck on finding repair panels yet.

Repair panels? Have you checked out LMC? Good luck getting it running right.

LOVE IT!!!! GM will not listen to us . I saw a Delaware State Fire Marshall driving a ford suv . I asked WTH? DE uses Gm. His answer " One year wait for a taho. DE is forced to buy Fords so they can keep rolling. A year wait for a new taho for a large fleet buyer? No wonder GM went under

Relying too much of fleet sales is bad business.
