How are the vent pull ***** removed?

Bought replacement lower vent ***** for the yellowing ones on my 70 CS, but can't seem to get the old ones off. What's the trick?

I put a rag on them, and use a pliers, or vice grip, but, if there old originals, they will probably brake. Also the new one will probably be to loose, and have to glue them on.

I cracked mine off with a BFH on a piece of wood backing. Broke off clean. Wear eye protection.

You need to remove the kick panel and then remove the handle assembly. The plastic retainer will otherwise break that holds it to the kick panel, making it useless. They are delicate.

Yes, good point. I completely removed all 4 vent cables from the vents and kick panels first, then cracked the plastic chrome ***** off.
