How do I remove the parking brake light

How do you remove the Emergency Brake Light indicator from the dash. I can't seem to be able to figure it out and I am afraid I am going to rip it off.

Is there a trick to it that I am missing?

Thanks,

Drew

When mine came on a few times... I remember just pressing the brake pedal down hard a few times, then it went out.

Well, I will be extremely happy if the light comes on in error or for real.

Reason for me wanting to remove it, is that I am painting the metal part of the dash while I have the dash pad off and dash face off.

Thanks for the reply!
