how do i pull a 1972 powersteering pulley?

how do i pull a 1972 powersteering pulley?

question..how do i pull a power steering pulley from the pump on a 1972 olds...and does the nut go lefty loosey and righty tighty? or is it opposite than normal to take the nut off so the pulley come off..and what tool do i need? thanks

Use a impact wrench and remove the nut, most of the time the pulley will WIGGLE off but if not (be gentle) and use a SOFT hammer to tap the shaft out of the KEYED pulley.
Soft hammer being a plastic or rubber head.
The instructions were on here a few weeks ago. Good luck.

is it lefty loosey? i know certain stuff goes opposite..like my lugs on my 56 olds...i was tightening them when i thought i was loosening them...and how do i stop the pulley from moving when i try to take the nut off? thanks

LEFTY off, you can hold the pulley with a RAG just watch your fingers, the nut is not that hard to remove.

I had a hard time with hand tools years ago. I took it to a buddy with impact. Took 2 secs. If I had to do it now I would put the pulley in my vice and use my own impact. It was lefty loosey I believe.
