That is a nice Oldsmobile that you just don't see many of. I really like that car.

I had an Omega for a while, it was a really nice little car, granted it didn't have a 350 in it but still nice.

Hatchback or not. I honestly think that is probably my favorite Omega that I have ever seen. Super low miles. Great colors. Excellent interior. Even with the gouge in the door. I love it.

Hatchback with the tent option, now THAT would be something as well! This is a super rare one for sure, A/C, bucket seats.

That gouge in the door sucks, really too bad. It is a big issue, although I don't see bare metal but I guess the price reflects it on a nicely optioned, low mile car.

First one I have seen with buckets but without console. Wow what a nice one. A great way to get into the hobby for relatively cheap I'll bet getting the gouge fixed wouldn't be to big a deal.

Fixing that door is the easy part. Matching the paint could be a challenge. The more I look at this car the more I like it.

I just looked and the posting has been deleted. Must have sold.

Great color. You don't many Omegas around. A friend of mine had a 1973 Buick Apollo for a handful of years. It was Buick's version of the Omega. He got tired of everyone asking about his "Chevy Nova" and why it had a Buick 350 in it.

In December 1977, I went swimming in the '76 Pontiac Ventura version.

Somewhere I read that N O V A stood for the four corporate versions designed by GM. N for Nova, O for Omega, V for Venture, and A for Apollo. Not sure of the accuracy of that but sounds correct.

Well, considering that the Nova (an option on the Chevy II) came out in 1962, and the others in '73, that would be unlikely.

Not necessarily... I think you just misworded post #20...

Seems to me from 71 forward the others were paying homage. Ventura already existed and was just rebirthed as an X body. And the other 2 divisions making their own version were asked to create model names that started with the additional letters.

Or it was just one helluva coincidence...

Well, that's kind of what I was trying to say. I realize that Nova was an option in the early 60's for Chevy and that it came into it's own as a named vehicle sooner but when they adopted the Omega, the Ventura, and the Apollo that was not a coincidence.
