Here's something you don't see everyday

A '55 (I think) Ford Thunderbird in use as a daily driver. I waited until the guy pulled away from the intersection so he wouldn't see me snapping the photo. He didn't look like someone who was out test-driving his partly-completed restoration or was driving the car from a shop back home or vice-versa. Rather, he had a cigarette hanging from his mouth and looked like he had just woken up from sleeping IN the car.

I think they look better without the fender skirts, too.

Milk crates are more comfortable than the stock seats in those.

No biggie but I think it is a 56 as that was the first year for the opera window and yes that is a rare sight.... Tedd

I couldn't believe it but at a granite city business the same year car is there everyday. It's baby blue and very rusty. I guess more than that guy uses them for daily drivers. Must not be in demand for restoration. Or at least these two people don't think so.

Here in Arizona you can see many examples of people using very cool older cars as daily drivers. I guess it the heat and lack of H2O that keeps cars in running condition. Nice photo of the bird!

That's a '56 T Bird as the exhaust exits at the corners of the bumper rather than straight out of the bumper and closer to the spare of the '55's. There was a guy driving a '59 Edsel around here for 2-3 years, but haven't seen him with it in about 6-8 months.
