Helping you fail... faster!

Drove by a nice bldg the other day out by MSU

Hmmm.... I wonder what MBI does? Maybe they have jobs for Enigneers!

Judging by the numerous smokestacks they incinerate body part or waste from the anthrax plant across town.

Web search turns up tidbits
http://www.xconomy.com/detroit/2012/...sk-and-expand/ (1)
http://www.mbi.org/

Slick bullshed sites with superbly vague wording and nice photos. They left out only the worn out catch phrases "going forward" and "one of the only."

Something about helping make corn and such into fuels, based on partnership with MSU.

Oh, sure, it's a buddy club for MSU money to keep your friends busy and employed. Awesome use of our tax money.

And, wow what a mission!

HELPING YOUR COMPANY FAIL... FASTER
I kid you not. From (1) above

"MBI International, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Michigan State University Foundation, has an ambitious goal: To help Michigan’s bioeconomy sector grow by working with companies to negotiate the “valley of death”—taking their early-stage innovations to commercial viability, and, if failure is imminent, helping companies fail quickly before too much money is spent."

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++

"Bridging the gap between early-stage innovation and commercial application.

Today's market demands new bio-based products that combine environmentally friendly attributes, sustainable production processes, and renewable raw-material sources... products that meet the highest standards at a comparable cost. MBI delivers commercially-viable product and process solutions to address these emerging needs.

MBI applies multidisciplinary expertise, bench-scale laboratories and a robust flexible approach to utilizing pilot-plant facilities to accelerate the development and scale-up of bio-based technologies. We partner with both universities and end-user companies to bridge the gap between early innovations and commercial applications.

MBI’s focus is in the area of Industrial or White Biotechnology, which refers to the production of fuels, chemicals, polymers, proteins and other materials from renewable resources."

However, i sure do not need or want any help in failing!
