help with ROP...carb needed

OK guys, no one here has replied to my post about a 7028253 or 7028251 Quadrajet for my '68 442.

I was wondering if someone could post for me over on ROP in order to broaden my search. I've found a 7028251 but would like one already restored or a 7028253. I'm in a bit of a rush to get my car done. It's been more than long enough that is should have been completed.

I'd do it myself but my account is inactive for some reason and I expect to never hear from the administrators to activate it again.

I appreciate it.

Thanks. Actually gave him a call and he wants $800 for a 51 carb. Way too rich for my blood and not the right number.

BAP can build me a 53 carb for $500, but I'm still looking to spend less. I'm at $350 right now for a core and then the rebuild on a 51.

Thanks guys. Talked to Sparky. He doesn't have any 51 or 53 cores available, and is backed up til past the New Year. I sent him some shots of my current carb. I'm going to see what he says about repairing it. However, might have to go local with the repair. I'm on a deadline.
