Help... any 57 4dr owners?

Hoping someone can help me out here. I have a 57 Olds 88 4dr Hrdt. What I am looking for is an answer to my front seat issue. Can anyone supply a photo or two or direct me to where I can find photos of the front seat.

Mine is equiped with a split back front seat that tilts forward like you would find in a two door. It seems odd that a 4dr would be equiped that way, but one never knows for sure. I also question if its the proper or original seat because it seems a bit wide and the trim on the seat shoulders rub the center half pillar between the front and rear doors.

Thanks for any help,

Nozmo

My '57 four door sedan has a one piece seat back and does not rub on the side pillars...

Sounds like your front seat is out of either a 2 door hardtop or 2 door post car. Your seat should have a 1-piece back like a sedan. Thats your problem

Thanks for the replies! I now have another piece of puzzle. Further inspection of the seat and talking to a few people, we have come to the conclusion that the front seat is from a non Olds or even GM product.

Now I have to find someone that is looking for a usable seat for a Ford, possibly a early 60s Tbird, Fairlane or Galaxy. I have yet to make a pinpoint ID on the seat though. Then I will have to find a replacement.

How's about a picture of the offending seat and some of us might be able to identify it for a small sum...
