Help with 1967 UHV ignition option
Calling all 1967 Olds Guru's!
I have a UHV ignition setup I removed from a 1967 Toronado. I have good photos of the harness routing for the Toro but am not sure how that may differ from a 442. Does anybody have a 1967 442 with this installed? If so, would you be able to snap some photos of where the module is bolted down and the harness to the coil & distributor are routed? Thanks! John

From want I know of this unit, it did not work, like it was suppose to back in the 60s (a retired Olds mechanic told me, they threw these units in the trash). From want little I know, of this option, it seems there was differnt parts numbers for differnt models.
For the 1968 Toronado, they is two diffrent listings, one for the standard 375 hp, and the other for a 400hp W-34. None of my W-34s have this option.

A 67 W30 with this ignition was written up in Oct. 67 High Performance Cars. There is a decent shot of the red coil next to the red-capped distributor. I did not see the module; it was not on the upper part of the firewall as far as I could tell. Get a 67 Assembly Manual on ebay; installation might be covered in it.

John, only pic I could find on the web was from the following article on the "oldsmobility" site:
http://www.oldsmobility.com/hpcars_apr67.htm
![](http://www.oldsmobility.com/images/testphotos/HPCars_ignition.jpg)
Which indicates the amplifier module was mounted at the front of the passenger side inner fender. The pic is not a great one, but I THINK I can see a whitish plastic mounting bracket on the innner fender leading back that resembles one in the photo you posted. Hope this is of some help.
And again, SORRY about that coil.![Frown](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
ON EDIT:
From the following auction for a postcard of the 1967 "Red Baron" Olds, it appears this car had the UHV ignition (I THINK you can see the module tucked in ahead of the inner wheelhouse). The wiring on the passenger inner fender and up to the firewall may provide some clues as well (though that car may have been so modified that they may be of questionable value).

Thank you guys for the responses! Kurt, if you would email that to me I'd really appreciate it! My email address is jmcneel@msn.com
The 1967 Toro had the module bolted on the drivers side, yet a Toro guy I was talking to said his car had it bolted under the dash. My 1967 442 was a stripped down model, but I'm considering adding this to it. If I do the photo and diagrams will help me do it right John
