Height Of Hypocrisy
I'm am very happy with the Bama football team..see Michigan. S Car. should have won the Bama game. I have two favorite college football teams, Auburn and whoever is playing Bama.
Was out of town, but there are some good points here.
Yes, I think the crux is the issue is that there are different levels of decency in different people.
I am with you. I play the stock market and do engineering for money. This endeavor is for pleasure for me, only. In fact, I make a point of selling the rare item I sell to friends at cost or gift it.
I have no issue with a decent profit. I do not care for people angling for obscene profits. To put a broad brush on it, some people here do one or the other.
Yes, this. I am running really behind on a project. I bought some original paint valve covers to sample for that project and a choke from Mike for that car. Haven't used them yet. Mike gave me a good price. I'm not flipping them, but I could see someone being torqued I didn't use them yet.
This specifically is hypocrisy, but it is also being deceitful in general. A man of his word does not do this. To put a finer point on it, perhaps we extend the "forum member as a fellow hobbyist and almost a fellow club member" to too many people on this board. Tiered membership of "trusted member," even if it were possible on IB boards, might not help, because one man's being deceived is another man's fair business practice.
I miss that place sometimes. It doesn't appear very active.
Anybody buying and selling parts deserves a profit. That is how capitalism works. If you think it is a fair price and you need the part, buy it. It is irrelevant what the seller paid for it. But then there are the ****** in this hobby. They have a part that is rare or they know you need and then they think they have you by the nads. I have no use for these folks and hope they have those parts when they die.

Couple of years back, we sold a house in Palm Springs. The buyer, in hopes of sealing the deal, sent us a wonderful letter complete with pictures of their happy (fictional?) family and promised that they would take good care of the place and hoped to live there for many years.
Within three months after the deal was done, my wife saw the place listed for sale with a fresh coat of white paint and some gaudy brass trim and no other changes ... for $300K more than we sold it for.
Who do we sue?

Howevever, just for the remedials like you out there, the house had been on the market for a long time. We did not fall for any tricks, nor did we sell it too cheap for the prevailing market conditions. I should also add that while the house was re-listed at a significantly higher price, I have no idea whether it actually sold at that price. My only quarrel with the buyers was that they were flippers trying to pass themselves off as legitimate long-term residents -- the kind of disingenuity that this thread is supposed to be about.
Should I be surprised that you don't seem able to grasp that?

It's actually not possible, so I guess I'm not shocked that you came up with it. Anyway we already covered all that and you're not adding anything new.

you’re being a crybaby about it now.
I have seen posts by you that contributed something useful to this forum but that was some time ago now. I don't know what happened, but all we ever seem to hear from you anymore is this kind of infantile fuckery.
Again, I told that story as an amusing anecdote that was meant as an example of the point of the thread.
