I need a GOOD heater core and heater thermostat for my 55 Olds 98. Does anybody have these or know where to go to get them? I've about worn Google out already.

Fusick does not show availability of a heater core for this car in their older Oldsmobile catalog. I don't see it on rockauto.com or autozone.com websites, either. I'm guessing you'll have to find a used piece.

I'll bet some of the people on here who have '50s Oldsmobiles will have suggestions.

Thermostats, on the other hand, are apparently available right over the counter for $9.99 at Autozone and I'm sure other places as well. Fusick and rockauto.com also carry them.

 

 

Don't know for sure on a 98, but I believe, back then, it was real close or the same as a '55 chevy, and those are available.

I bought a new heater core for my '57 98 from the rad shop I deal with...my core was shot so they measured it up and ordered a new one and 'Bob's your Uncle'...works great too

 

USA Parts Supply has rebuilt heater cores, they have all kinds of 1940's and up regular and full size Oldsmobile odd and hard to find parts, used them a few times.

Take what you have to your local radiator shop and have them rebuild it .That's what I did and it worked out cheaper than buying new and having it shipped....Tedd
