Thanks for posting this. I have not seen this one before and it is one of the best I have seen. God Bless all the members of the Gold Star families that have lost love ones. Unfortunately many people including our own VP just consider this a long weekend and the beginning of summer. It amazes me that 61 people have viewed this thread and only two folks have taken the time to leave a response.

Don't equate lack of responses as an indictment. Words don't exist that adequately honor their sacrifice.

It is up to us to carry on the tradition of keeping the memories alive for those who aren't.

Honor and respect for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country... Many people today still have no idea of the sacrifices made by our Military to keep this a FREE country...

With all the hustle and bustle of today's society it's easy to get distracted from the true meaning of today's holiday. Let's all take time to remember that the freedoms we enjoy today are the result of sacrifices made by brave individuals. God bless them and their families. Thank you to ALL that served and continue to serve.

And not a one of all who served was a sucker nor a loser.
My dads younger brother was in WWII as a co-pilot in a B17. Was shot down and lost his life.

Everyone, please do not take this the wrong way but...

As a vet, I do not feel the need to post all the time regarding Memorial Day. Every day is Memorial Day. I remember most of those that I served with and think of them often.

One other thing,
Please don't say "Happy" Memorial Day. It's Memorial Day or (and I rather like this one more) the British call it Remembrance Day. That is much more apt.

I agree with you on the Happy Memorial Day thing. It is a solemn occasion. Many people look at it as a happy day since it is a long weekend. Others say it without giving it a lot of thought. However I am of the opinion that every Memorial Day should be recognized to remind people the price paid by many so they can live in a free country. I think this is very important for the current generation.
