Thumbs up The Handsomest's One's Big Day Out....

A couple of shots of the Olds in Warragamba yesterday. Too big to post individually so hopefully this link will work.

Colonel...... He looks very handsome!! Not gay at all! Very nice pics - I like them. Is he orange or an orange-ish red? It looks like you had him at a show? I'll bet he was turning heads!

He's not as Orange as he looks in those pics. More of a burnt Orange (slightly brighter than the Avatar pic). A bit of a Chameleon. Around dusk he's almost tan and in bright sunlight he's quite orange.
He could be gay though. The previous owner's name was Faggart.
He wasn't at a show, just a club picnic at Warragamba Dam (Sydney's water supply) which is all of 15 minutes from home. American Muscle Car Club of Australia.

Faggart?
Life is hard enough.

What a beauty!
I bet The Prettiest One is even more green with envy now.

I think almost every old car pic from Australia has a Furd Rustang in it somewhere.

Guess who the next post is gonna be from and you're in trouble again BV

Are there any Mustangs left in America? There are squillions down here.
That said, there are some very nice ones in this club. The yellow one that got caught in the Old's slipstream and wound up parking behind me is a 410h.p. car and it's immaculate.
Gonna sit back now an wait for Sandy's reply...

Yeah..I know I''m going to be called something that starts with an "S".
I'm used to it.
She'll be bringing that green thing over to my place this week so "we" can paint the engine.
Sandra better be very nice when she calls me names.

Excellent.....my plan is coming together...
So when she brings the car over for the engine repaint you "may" need to remove a hose or two. Below is a picture of Sandy's A/Conditioning. Don't ask how I got it,...that's classified information. I need that large hose that runs from the rear of the compressor closest the camera and joins the pipe forward of the radiator near the cap. Just give me your Paypal details & I'll send a few dollars your way. She won't miss it until Summer and we can both be off the forum by then. A dangerous mission BV, but I think you're the man to do it

Morning Wolfie..
Does go well. Holding each gear too long but we'll get the trans serviced. Probably a throttle body valve sticking from lack of use. It shifts smooth.
Goes through a lot more fuel than the '67 330 that's for sure, but the over-revving in first & second is no doubt accounting for some of that.
Overall I'm really happy with the car. It goes hard, I can show it straight up without any work and it starts conversations. I watched a bloke wander around it on the weekend...circled it twice until I walked over to the car and he said.."What's a 442?".
WOTSA442 is my user name on an Aussie Forum. It's a question I'm gonna get asked a lot.

And back to you.....have you been rescheduled for your operation yet or have you been under the knife already? Hope you've been keeping well.

The staying in gear too long could be a function of either the vacuum modulator on the trans or the governor either sticking or not have the correct weight on it.

Drat.....(note to self)....must stop putting devious plans on the internet where people, including intended victims, can see what I'm plotting.
[thinks...] I won't need that hose until around late October. Seven months to hatch another plan. Then again maybe Cutlassgal will have decided to step up to a 442 by then and part the old green girl out. .... hmmm what else do I need?.....

Thanks Randy, & thanks too for posting the pics from photobucket.
I know zip about auto transmissions. Just know my old road runner did exactly the same thing and it was a sticking throttle body valve. It hadn't been driven for a while either. The trans in it was like new as I imagine this one is if it's like everything else, but lack of use doesn't do them much good from what I can tell.

Aprill 22nd Wolfman? You sure?
Take your ride and grab that surgeon and escort him/her to the operating room this time.
Nobody would dare get in the way of that yellow land beast.
My neurolgist rolled her Jeep on the freeway then jumped out and got in a cop car and went to the hospital to do surgeries, never missed a beat.
She's nuts, but that's besides the point.

On the hose...Jahwohl! Herr Colonel!

Sandy is sans A/C muffler for some reason?
I don't know what the deal with that is?
I guess the A/C works though?
Hard to find a job these days so I guess that's a good thing.

Here it comes....take cover...
Superman has a big "S" on his chest.

BV...I think you've answered my next question with the muffler situation.
Is this the part I'm missing? (Couldn't post the pic as it's too large..part # AC 9537T)

Well April 22 is when I go to the hospital next and go through all the Q & A grilling. Then all the papers to sign your life away , then check your blood pressure etc. Then sit and wait with a couple dozen people in nothing but those hospital gowns that you can never manage to get closed. Tendonitis in both shoulders makes sure that I can't tie anything behind my back.
I will finish putting on the ill fitting convertible top seals that I got from Fusicks.I sent them a couple of pics of them and asked if this was correct or did someone screw up by sending a mixed up box. They emailed me and said that they could do nothing about it and either could their supplier cause these were not remans and if there were too many complaints about them then they would just stop selling them??

Well Wolfie, that just sucks! I feel bad that you got a bad product from them. You would think they'd try to make it right? So the surgery is rescheduled, huh... I hope it goes through for you this time! Tell them you want a "snuggie" to sit around in while you wait... they are open in the back too, but big enough you can pull it around you and make sure all is covered! LOL!!

Yeah I am not real sure why they are like this but in the instructions it says they can be used for 69 & 70 Olds as well as 64-68 Cadillac with tab on rear seal and 69-70 without rear seal tab? These are new but not remanufactured so maybe the company is just putting together kits that will fit but are not correct. The middle seal is smaller in that it does not come down the window as far as the other two and one of the screw holes was different than the one I took off. It will fit lenth wise and width wise but the rubber seal itself is smaller.
I wonder if anyone else here has gotten this convertible top seal kit from Fusicks. I would be interested to know if they experienced the same problem.

BlueVista...Is this the hose with muffler you're talking about? The one Sandy has "sans muffler".

And Wolfie, I thought your last post was in response to Sandy's recommendation for you to get a Snuggie...ie its fits lengthwise but there may be an issue with the rear seal...

You crack me up, Jamesbo!!! I just got off the phone with my friend Marc.... he emailed me a pic he took this morning of I-75 and all the traffic! LORD!!!! He said the Big Chicken is past the tree line in this pic, so I can't see it. I told him to keep his eye out for your Blue Drop Top Jamesbo.... thus the reason he sent me the pic! He asks me... "Do you have any idea how much traffic there is here?"

Nope..he don't got one of them. There are 2 ports on the back of the compressor. That big U-shaped hose that goes back to the thingy on the firewall plugs into one of them. And something which is missing plugs into the others. Looks like that aluminium "canister" plugs into the one in the photo and I'm assuming it has a hose coming out of it up to the connection near the radiator (which I guess goes to the little A/C radiator looking thing)
The one in the pic that Randy kindly downloaded looks to have the correct connections at either end and a muffler type gizmo in the middle. Maybe its a new type to suite the new gas??
Apologies for my underwhelming knowledge of Auto air conditioners and associated componentry.

I'm surprised the transmission shifts at all, what with the fluids all trying to leak out the dipstick tube down under.
I'm amazed at how sticky the tires are to hold on to the road too.

Happy April 1!

Here's a '72 Hurst Car's A/C set up (on eBay at the moment). It looks to have the insulated muffler that Jamesbo was talking about and a rubber hose going to the compressor unlike Robs. Won't be summer here for 8 months so I guess I'll have it figured out by then.
Daughter is going OK thanks Sandy. She's allowed to venture out of the hospital for 4 hours tomorrow. Janet (wife) is taking her shopping. She has to sit down in a cafe and eat something...it's part of the deal. We'll see how she goes.
Sun broke out here this morning so I took the Handsomest One out for a top-down run. Janet's first trip in it. Didn't like it when I put the boot into it down a long straight. Get's from 40mph to 90 mph pretty fast. Cruise control works, heater works, tacho doesn't, oil pressure guage doesn't, everything else seems to. Might put some under-dash oil & water guages in it just to be safe until I get the factory ones repaired / replaced.
Have a good easter break guys.

Col, car looks good. Does your first name start with a "B" by any chance? If it does you only needed a 4 to have the right plate. CBW055 (Col B Wickham's 055), I have heard a 442 called a deuce and a 455 called a '55. And if someone asks "What's a 442?" again, say "It's a 10,a perfect 10." 4+4+2= 10
