One less competitor for Goodyear... In all honesty, I preferred the Cooper over Goodyear... The pricing was much better...

I guess that means I need to buy my Cooper Cobras for my convertible soon. One of the last companies to offer 225-70-R14s. I can see Goodyear dispensing with that size.

Goodyears have been a little higher priced. But I have replaced them on my Mercury Mountaineer's with new Goodyear Wranglers. They wear well and last a long time. Up here where we have four distinct seasons and lots of snow, they work very well. I was stuck once in the last few years and it took my Bobcat to dig it out and pull it off the snow drift it was sitting on.

X2. Goodyear hasn't shown much love for the muscle car market and BFG with their raised brown letters are a major disappointment.

I have had excellent luck with Cooper tires, when I restored My 64 Chevy Cooper was the only one that made a radial in the correct equivalent
metric size ( except Coker) they were Excellent tires, My daughter had a 2004 Caviler when it needed tires we put 4 Coopers on it again excellent tires , hope they continue to produce quality tires.

Apparently the raised brown letter thing is still current. I was always able to take them from tan after a year to bone white with some westley's bleache-white and a fine wire brush. Guess even that doesn't work now. I bought a set in 18, apparently right before this stuff went down.

More importantly I wonder what's gonna happen to mickey thompson tires. Cooper owner them. With good year making their own slicks I wonder if they will sell that asset or continue to make tires under the mickey thompson name

I've run Coopers on my stuff for years and had excellent service from them.

I haven't had a set of Goodyears yet that was worth a damn. After the third set of shitty tires I refuse to use them.

Damn.
