The good with the bad
The good with the bad
I am so disappointed with the company I work at! Turns out my Boss-hole who I understand gets paid well for eating sh-t from the owner, and is probably well deserved but lacks in efficiency and common sense! We at are job probably like many, endure dangerous situations that need the presence of careful planning and consideration. However, my boss whom I call "shaggy" because he is nearly the closest live version of shaggy from Scooby Doo, receives a bonus from several of us for our efforts while we just remain hourly. Many times I believe he makes wrong decisions at the most critical times. And I've had many valid arguments and have brought grievances to the owner but to no avail the subjects remain unjustified. I'm glad to be working but soon hope to move on where I can be acknowledged for my efforts and compensated for them as well. We risk our lives for this boss-hole without any means of a thank you for our service. Here is a photo of me and what I sometimes have to do!

People who regularly work in situations where one mistake could equal death can't afford to have incompetent losers as bosses.
I hope you've got feelers out for your next gig as we speak.
Good luck.

So let me explain it from your boss's perspective:
I currently work in heavy demolition and I've been in heavy construction specializing in the bridge construction business for over 30 years. I see you're in a full body harness and your tied off. I can't tell from your grainy picture if you're OSHA compliant but I sure as hell can tell you're not free climbing with no safety protection. (nor should you be). We have guys routinely climbing 200 feet in the air. Always tied off.... It's only dangerous if you don't do it correctly.
"I've got these guys that work for me that get paid for every hour they work. It doesn't matter if they screw things up they still get paid and even get overtime when they have to fix their mistakes. The guys that work for me can pick up and leave any time they want because no one wants to do what we do and there's work everywhere for guys willing to climb.
I'm on salary and I'm expected to work as many hours as it takes to get the job done. I'm responsible for safety and bringing the job in on time and under budget or it's my *** that gets fired. I work nights and weekends and my phone never stops ringing. The owner constantly calls me asking "how's it going" and stupid crap like that instead of letting me run my crew. I've got one guy that's been working in this business for three years that thinks he's always got a better way to do things and is always questioning every decision I make. He's a PIA but I have to keep him because no one else wants to do this work. I spent 20 years climbing and just about killed myself three or four times. The money sucks in management but I've got a wife and family now so I'm willing to take the pay cut for steady work"

My primary job is wireless voice and data installation, my secondary is on call and climb to keep the plant going which is a great job! Internally its a cluster and unprofessional!! I started in the field of technologies after I ended my 10 year run as a business owner to pursue back to basics. Ive had to deal with a lot of B.S. in my 46 years of existence but never encountered as much as I have had here. Your pretty accurate except for he gets paid hourly, he never mentions safety, they never have projects with ending times..meaning these other guys sit as long as they like! Which Is very unusual these days. And I think he takes are efficiency ideas to his boss and says they are his own. And can never makes a positive example or motivation. Here is another photo of me 280 feet high replacing a radio in one of our antennas. The other tower in the photo is the sister to the one I'm on...
I have ComTrain rescue certification and climb very safely.
Just a little heads up from someone who works in IT...
Everything that you put out there on the internet is there forever. If a current or future employer wants to check on you through the net, it is incredibly easy. I know that work can sometimes suck, and in your place can be very dangerous, but if I wanted to check on you... just how many Sean's in Hebron Indiana, with that Olds and do the type of work that you do, do you think are out there?
Just take some advise from someone that was "blacklisted" for 6 months for speaking his mind...tone it down (even if venting is needed once in a while).
