That was the first year for their Torsion-bar suspension.

Nice comparison.

Those were the first Chryslers with torsion bars [oops - "Jinx!" Diego!], and they did have a superior suspension to the GM cars.

They all handled like trucks compared to anything on the road today, though, even compared to my 1990 ¾ ton pickup.
In my BMW, I'd be rolling through that turn with one hand on the wheel, while fishing around under the seat with the other hand for a cassette tape.

The technology does add up through the years.
