Welcome My wife did the same thing many years ago. We're both very lucky guys and I still don't know what I did to deserve her either I've been with her steady for almost 35 years, since high school. I've never even thought about anyone else, who needs the rest when you got the best?

I would recommend that you get the 1972 Olds chassis service manual, 1972 Fisher Body manual and the 1972 Factory assembly manual if you don't have them, makes life a whole lot easier. Where are you located? Somebody here may be close with some of those parts you need or be able to steer you in the right direction for the area.
If you do find a clip or the parts beware of rust at the lower rear of the fenders and bad areas just below the battery tray if you need a core support.
If you're looking for one there's a nice 1971 support on evilbay right now for 125 bucks. He just put Oldsmobile in the title and it may be hurting it, only 6 hits and I'm one of them. It's already media blasted and painted which is a major plus, paints too dull but that's no big deal. They are hard to find in decent condition like that if it's all he says it is. It's for a 1971 and the 1972 has little kick-ups on the top for grill clearance, a lot of guys that own them don't even realize the difference until you point it out. It will work fine on a '72 if you aren't into Pebble Beach Concours type restorations, like they would even allow a Cutlass in there.

Welcome, This type of story is the best. For those of us who get the support in our hobbie from our mates its nice to see others enjoy the same support. For me its been 41 years and counting. Wow what a girlfriend and she wrenches too WOW!!!!!!!!!!
