Genuine GM fan belts

Genuine GM fan belts
Does anyone have a source for GM fan belts? I am looking for a set for a 1970 Cutlass with 350 CID, PS & AC. Thanks for your help! Thorton's does not carry the belts for the 350 but does sell them for the 400 and 455.

Your local auto parts store. Everyone carries them. Just go and tell them what kind of car you and buy what you need. Autozone has them. NAPA has them. Online source Rockauto has several different brands.

Of course if I can't find a source for what appears to be original fan belts I will go to my local auto parts store. There are many parts during the course of my frame off restoration I could have bought from my local auto parts store but I like spending 4 times the money finding correct parts for my 1970 car that are not stamped "Made In China." My heater hoses are stamped "GM" and my radiator hoses are stamped "GM" and many other parts also are correct for 1970 or at least appear to be correct parts thanks to Fusick Auto Parts, OPGI and other companies that make parts for a 1970 Cutlass. Thorton's restoration parts does carry factory appearing GM fan belts for $27 each but does not reproduce them for a 350 olds engine, only the 400-455 engines. It was my hope that by asking my Oldsmobile friends here on the Olds forum that I could benefit from the wisdom and experience of fellow members and someone would know of a source of GM correct appearing fan belts for my 48 year old car. I specifically did not ask about NOS parts as I realize fan belts are rubber products and would not be suitable for a car you would drive, maybe they would be good for a museum piece that will not be driven. I am planning on driving my car, thus NOS fan belts would be be suitable for my purposes. Thanks BFG, FStanley and hairyhurst for your input. I will check with Inline tube tomorrow, another vendor I have used in the past instead of going to the local auto parts store.

Fusick and OPGI don't necessarily make the parts they sell, and just because a part is stamped "GM" doesn't mean it wasn't made in China. It's pretty difficult these days to keep any old car on the road without installing some China-made parts because that's the only source. This is particularly true for brake parts. Raybestos, Raytheon, Wagner, AC/Delco, etc. brake parts are all made in China. I recently completely redid the brakes on my '78 Toro. Shoes, calipers, rotors, hoses, drums, pads, you name it. Every single part I bought, even the so-called name-brand parts I mentioned a couple of sentences ago, was made in China.
I understand the desire to have an original "look," but spending $27 for a $6 fan belt is a waste of money, in my opinion. Your car may "look" original under the hood with correctly stamped parts, and Fusick in particular makes a big deal about how they have licensed the use of GM trademarks in the parts they sell, but none of this means that they're all made in the U.S.A.

I had a similar situtation on Buick, I got a measurement off an aftermarket belt wide and length.. then went to Quanta, Fusick, Year One, Thorntons, OPGI, etc for a similar size, I found on that was close enough to work. I think I found a Pontiac belt that was close enough...
Granted these GM repro belts won't hold up if you race, but if you have a show car you putz around in probably OK,,, carry some extra belts and just put on for show????
or look on Ebay if someone has some old GM Marked belts but getting old now, only for show at this point.. which is what I do...
Also late Goodyear belts have failed me, twice!!!! I now use only Gates or Dayco....
My 2c
