If that is good, and the gas pedal lets it close to idle, then it is what it is. If both of those are not true, there are different cable lengths, and the pedal rod can be bent. That second crimp nut might be usable.

It could be. What I would be concerned about is, if you use that new bead, the pedal will be taller at idle and taller at floored. The reason it is called floored is because it is to the floorboard. This provides a positive stop. If you've moved the whole travel out, it will now be floored above the floor, and you could put a lot more stress on the cable with a hard boot. If the car drives fine, I would leave it alone. Looks don't matter.
