Gas pedal adjustment

On my 1979 cutlass
the gas pedal is way below the clutch and brake

I see on the cable there is another notch per day just doesn’t have that black stopper

does this look right to you ? Or is there a piece I can buy to use that second notch on the cable ?
that would bring the gas pedal up further

The important thing is that the carb throttle plate experiences full travel. You'll need to prop your secondary air valves open. With engine off, and with assistant, confirm that floored on the pedal makes all four barrels open wide. just the same way you can do it by hand on the bracket. If that is good, and the gas pedal lets it close to idle, then it is what it is. If both of those are not true, there are different cable lengths, and the pedal rod can be bent. That second crimp nut might be usable.

It's worth pointing out that the only pedals that have ever lined up are manual brakes and the clutch.

yes everything is opening fine in the carb.
Just wondering if that 2nd notch is for adjusting purposes etc

It could be. What I would be concerned about is, if you use that new bead, the pedal will be taller at idle and taller at floored. The reason it is called floored is because it is to the floorboard. This provides a positive stop. If you've moved the whole travel out, it will now be floored above the floor, and you could put a lot more stress on the cable with a hard boot. If the car drives fine, I would leave it alone. Looks don't matter.
