Gas Door License plate hardware

I am trying to install my gas door on the bumper. Also front plate.

i ordered the License hardware from OPGI or Inline Tube. Neither seems to fit. The white thing is square. The holes in bumper are round. The square is too big to fit into bumper. I cant hammer it in its too hard of plastic. I went to Autozone and looked at HELP! Things and same as what I have.

how the heck do I get the license plate and gas door onto the bumper?

The white plastic is to mount the license plate to the gas door, the gas door uses bolts to attach it to the
bumper.

Didn’t you pass the square peg in the round hole test that you took in kindergarten? I think that is the hole that the license plate door bolts to. Then those plastic retainers attach to the gas door.

This is what I have. There does not seem to be anywhere on gas door that has a place for the white plastic either. The screws that come with kit are smaller than the bumper hole.

The two sheet metal screws go from the inside through the holes in the bumper and screw into the threaded holes in the license plate hinge.

That makes sense for the gas door but then wont I have some sharp screws poking out toward me?

and what about Front plate? The front bumper has same round holes. I cant figure out how the plate mounts or any photos examples. Every google search I do turns up those same white plastic things that do not fit in the bumper.

The screws should not be sharp as they have flat ends. I've never had an issue with them in 40 years of filling the tank and wrenching on the car.

Dunno how front plates were mounted as I grew up without front plates on cars. A quick internet search showed there is a frame/support bracket for the lower bolts on front plates.
