Fuel line replacement

My car has not performed well at WOT since it was restored. It starts missing and performance starts falling off after 4500 rpm, but runs well under normal driving conditions. I eliminated most of the normal culprits and have always suspected a fuel supply issue. Today I was under the car and found a small kink in the steel fuel line where it goes over the axle. Not sure if this happened when I put the body back on the frame of when I installed the line on the frame but I think it is the issue. My question is has anybody replaced this line with the body on the frame? Does anyone make a flexible steel line that could be spliced into the existing line? I would like to find a solution that does not involve raising the body from the frame. Any input would be appreciated.

can you post a picture/s of the kinked line? since you're dealing with the fuel system you want a profession repair, no leaks what so ever. before you begin surgery, I would exhaust every other possibility, fuel pressure, carb, electronics. a trip to the chassis dyno may pinpoint the problem. good luck

I replaced my complete line from the tank to the motor via pump (electrical in my case) with steelflex lines. Easy to do, no need for taking of / raising the body.

Can you just repair the small kinked area?
